That way you will be warm to start and can peel layers as needed during your workout and as the weather demands.<\/h2>\n<div id=\"attachment_636\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/doubleeaglefitness.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/01\/img00051-20120102-194511.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-636\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-636\" title=\"img00051-20120102-19451\" src=\"http:\/\/doubleeaglefitness.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/01\/img00051-20120102-194511.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-636\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Layering shirts<\/p><\/div>\n<h2><strong>For the upper body<\/strong>, I recommend you start with four layers (see photo left).\u00a0 <strong>First<\/strong>, you want to have an initial layer to wick moisture from your core.\u00a0 For this, find a sleeveless or short sleeve top that you like.\u00a0 For the next layer, a light weight long sleeve t- shirt that zips at the neck is great.\u00a0 I like those better than a crew neck, as they are easier to take on and off and sometimes just the difference between opening and closing the zipper can help to regulate your body temperature as you\u2019re working out.<\/h2>\n<h2><a href=\"http:\/\/doubleeaglefitness.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/01\/fleece-zip-up.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-630\" title=\"fleece zip up hoodies\" src=\"http:\/\/doubleeaglefitness.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/01\/fleece-zip-up.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"276\" \/><\/a>Next, have a heavier long sleeve top for warmth \u2013 more like a fleece.\u00a0 Again, you can go crew neck or have one that zips at the neck for easy on and off.\u00a0 For the outer layer, you need a shell that will break the wind.\u00a0 As you sweat, even if you end up taking off your 3<sup>rd<\/sup> warmth layer, you will need to have a windbreaker shell or jacket so that you don\u2019t get chilled by the cold or the wind once you are sweaty.\u00a0 Start with four layers, experiment, and learn what works best for you.<\/h2>\n<div id=\"attachment_631\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/doubleeaglefitness.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/01\/cimg34663.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-631\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-631\" title=\"CIMG3466[3]\" src=\"http:\/\/doubleeaglefitness.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/01\/cimg34663.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-631\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Reflecting outer shell<\/p><\/div>\n<h2>As it gets dark early during the winter, and you are training outside, you may be working out in a busy area at dusk or after dark.\u00a0 If so, find a shell that reflects the light.\u00a0 You can find them in bright yellow and lime green.\u00a0 You\u2019ll be safer in these as motorists will be able to see you more easily.<\/h2>\n<div id=\"attachment_632\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/doubleeaglefitness.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/01\/agl-tights.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-632\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-632\" title=\"AGL-TIGHTS\" src=\"http:\/\/doubleeaglefitness.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/01\/agl-tights.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"262\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-632\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Under Armour cold weather gear compression leggings<\/p><\/div>\n<h2>For the lower body, there are a lot of different types of tights and pants you can choose from.\u00a0 Some are form-fitting and some fit like a regular pant that has spandex in it so that it stretches with you during your workout.\u00a0 Try on some different styles and find what you like best.\u00a0 For winter, it\u2019s best to have a full length pant or tight, again from manmade fabrics.\u00a0 This will keep your muscles and joints protected from the cold and the wind.<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/doubleeaglefitness.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/01\/img00052-20120102-2013.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-625\" title=\"IMG00052-20120102-2013\" src=\"http:\/\/doubleeaglefitness.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/01\/img00052-20120102-2013.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Don\u2019t forget your head, hands and feet.\u00a0 I find that a hat is usually too warm for me if I\u2019m working out, but I carry one in case I need it. \u00a0It can be useful after the workout to keep you from getting chilled as you cool down. I have a simple beanie made of manmade material that is tightly woven, stretchy and soft so that it doesn\u2019t itch when I have it on.\u00a0 For my hands I have a pair of polypropylene gloves usually used as\u00a0glove liners.<\/h2>\n<h2><a href=\"http:\/\/doubleeaglefitness.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/01\/adidas-clima-cool-running-gloves.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-633\" title=\"Adidas-Clima-Cool-Running-Gloves\" src=\"http:\/\/doubleeaglefitness.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/01\/adidas-clima-cool-running-gloves.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>These are light weight, and are just enough to keep my fingers and hands warm without being too hot, and as they are a lightweight fabric, they don\u2019t restrict my hand movement.\u00a0 Also, they protect my hands if I\u2019m doing push-ups on the cold ground.\u00a0 For socks, I also wear a manmade blend of fabrics rather than an all-cotton sock.\u00a0 In winter, I wear one that comes up to mid-calf to keep my ankle joints warm and protected.<\/h2>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sabrina Roblin has been training with Double Eagle Fitness for four months and today she shares her insight on how to dress for cold weather workouts.
